From the published design sketches, it can be seen that the roof of the BYD Tang L is integrated with a LiDAR system, indicating that the model will be equipped with an advanced intelligent driving system. While it is not yet clear whether LiDAR will become a standard feature across the range, considering the increasing importance of smart driving technology by 2025, it is not surprising for BYD to outfit the Tang L with a high-level intelligent driving system.

In terms of exterior design, the Tang L features a closed grille design and, for the first time in the Dynasty Network SUV series, uses a split-type headlight cluster. The daytime running lights adopt a pulsating design and are connected to a through-type chrome trim, enhancing the horizontal visual width of the front face. The near and far lights are located on the lower sides of the grille, displaying a unique style.

The side lines of the body are robust, doing away with the small sloping back and floating roof design, making the overall appearance more imposing. The door handles feature a pop-out design, which helps to reduce wind resistance. The wheels are five-spoke, low-wind-resistance models, giving a grand appearance.
Regarding the powertrain, the plug-in hybrid model is expected to be equipped with the fifth-generation DM system, consisting of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The pure electric version is built on the e platform 3.0 Pro and is expected to see significant improvements in the three-electric system.
Additionally, the new car will be larger than the current Tang model, with an expected length exceeding 5 meters and a six-seat design. The current Tang model has a length of about 4.9 meters and is primarily a five-seat design, whereas the six-seat design will offer more spacious accommodations.
Overall, the BYD Tang L has undergone significant upgrades in design, size, and technological configuration, and is expected to occupy an important position in the mid-to-large SUV market.
