Hyundai Motor has established an electric vehicle charging alliance in Indonesia, a move aimed at promoting the development of the electric vehicle market in the country. The alliance consists of Hyundai Motor Company and six local private charging operators, providing a wide-ranging charging network that offers more flexible and diverse charging options for electric vehicle users.
Through the “myHyundai” application, Hyundai electric vehicle users can easily access all charging facilities within the alliance without the hassle of separate membership registration or payment processes. Hyundai is the first company in Indonesia to launch a charging roaming plan, which breaks down barriers between different charging operators, allowing users to enjoy charging services from multiple operators on a unified platform.
Currently, the Hyundai Electric Vehicle Charging Alliance operates 429 charging stations in Indonesia, with a total of 696 charging piles for electric vehicles, accounting for 97% of the total number of private electric vehicle charging piles in the country. In addition, Hyundai Motor also launched the second-generation Kona Electric model at the Indonesia International Auto Show, which is the first electric vehicle in Indonesia to use locally produced batteries.
This series of initiatives not only reflects Hyundai’s emphasis on the Indonesian market but is also of great significance for promoting the overall development of the electric vehicle market in Indonesia. As the country with the largest population in Southeast Asia and one of the largest automobile consumers, Indonesia’s electric vehicle market has great potential.
